The Musto family and our oil

A family rooted in Acquavella since the 17th century, a grove of Salella in the heart of Cilento and one single extra virgin olive oil, organic at every stage.

The family

The Musto family of Acquavella

The Musto family’s history has been intertwined with Acquavella since the 17th century.
Traces of its noble origins have long since faded, and perhaps some of their meaning too.
What remains is a small part of the once extensive family estate: over four hectares of olive groves and citrus orchards in Luppari and Canneto, the chapel, and the family home on Via Fontana Medina, an old rural palazzo lovingly restored over the years, first by Giuseppe Musto and then by his family, in a spirit that still guides us today: to take care of what time has left us, preserving what is good and beautiful, with simplicity and dedication.
Just as we do with our land.

Our oil

Early-harvest Salella oil: less oil, more character

We harvest our olives early in the season, when yields are naturally lower.
It is a deliberate choice: less oil, but richer in polyphenols, lower in acidity and more intense in aroma.

The result is a fragrant, harmonious oil with a gently peppery finish, perfect even for the simplest — and perhaps most demanding — test of all: making even a slice of bread taste sublime.
